Join us for this year's The Power of Equity in Education Symposium: Choosing to See on October 20, 2022! We will continue to focus on the best practices to strengthen our systems to more effectively prepare and respond to the needs of all students and create the conditions for them to thrive. More information regarding keynote speakers and breakout sessions to come!
This year we will also be holding a half day pre-conference on October 19th at an additional cost. The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) is a 2.5 hour interactive simulation that highlights the lived realities and human impact of poverty. COPE is an experiential training that gives educators an opportunity to experience poverty firsthand through the eyes of real students and families.
Educators who attend COPE will gain a deeper insight into the realities of their students’ families who are experiencing poverty. It is designed for educators to see what the students they teach experience as their families navigate the system of social service organizations, governmental agencies and social challenges they face living in poverty. The COPE pre-conference will be offered at two different time options on October 19th: 9-11:45 AM or 1-3:45 PM *Space is limited* Pricing will be as follows: A thank you to our sponsor, 21st Century CSLA!
