Building Thinking Classrooms 1.0

"If students aren't thinking, everything is difficult. If students are thinking almost anything is possible," states Peter Liljedahl, author of Building Thinking Classrooms. In this 2-day workshop, we will dive into and model the teaching practices for enhancing student learning as outlined in the book 'Building Thinking Classrooms.' Specifically, we will focus on implementing tasks that promote reasoning and problem solving, creating student centered classrooms, encouraging productive struggle, and building positive math identities.

Building Thinking Classrooms 2.0

In this two-part workshop, we will shift our focus from capturing students' shared thoughts to ensuring they retain and apply key concepts effectively. We will discover practical strategies to help students organize their thinking for better retention, with a special emphasis on the behavioral dynamics of mathematics. Let's work together to create classrooms where meaningful learning is not just shared but deeply embedded and applied.
