EPiCC Personalizing your EL Professional Learning for Secondary Educators (County Office and District Personnel)

This trainer of trainers has been specifically designed to support secondary site administrators, TOSAs, and coaches with limited time to support educators’ knowledge and implementation of Integrated and Designated ELD. Unlike a traditional TOT, this session will not be designed to replicate the EL RISE! secondary offerings - this TOT is designed to provide professional learning delivery choices. The learning segments are comprised from resources from the 20+ hours of learning of the EL RISE! Asset-based Content and Language Instruction for Multilingual Learners in the Secondary Grades and Integrated and Designated ELD Strand for Secondary Teachers. Participants will become acquainted with: the guidance provided in key California Department of Education resources, including the English Learner Roadmap policy, Content Frameworks, and the newly published Improving Education for Multilingual and English Learner Students: Research to Practice high-impact instructional strategies that build comprehension, support active engagement, intentionally build language and focus on all four domains of language (oracy, listening/comprehension, reading, and writing) how the CA ELD Standards can support student development of disciplinary content
