EQUITY AND THE LCAP
The California State Dashboard’s Equity Reports begin with “equity is at the heart of
California’s accountability system.” This series will offer the participant a deeper dive
into the requirements, analyze data, engage educational partners, and gather input
from the school community. We will explore the eight state priorities, the required
metrics to measure, and explore local metrics to shine a light on the successes,
challenges, and best practices when developing an LCAP through the local lens. A key
component in this 2nd year is to ensure that the LCAP is written in a way that is
understandable and accessible to parents. With the diversity of our school
communities, participants will explore the dashboard and their local LCAPS and be
introduced to the policy aligned to the data analysis. The LCAP is an iterative process,
and this series is early in the year and give the participant a head start on the
continuous improvement journey through the lens of their own unique student
groups.
