Procedural fluency is essential for students to develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and solve problems efficiently. This workshop will focus on "Seven Significant Strategies" to teach to students as they work toward procedural fluency. Participants will learn activities, fluency routines, and games that encourage learning the efficiency, flexibility, and accuracy essential to real fluency. Reflection questions, connections to mathematical standards, and techniques for assessing all components of fluency will also be discussed. Additionally, we will discuss suggestions for engaging families in understanding and supporting fluency. |
