ADVANCED: USING IMPROVEMENT SCIENCE TO
ADVANCE EQUITY – COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
Improvement science provides a framework and tools for improving inequities and
transforming our school systems. However, putting these ideas into practice can be
challenging due to a myriad of reasons, including culture, time constraints, and
change fatigue. This community of practice is for K-12 leaders who are engaging
in improvement science to advance equity and will build the capacity to lead this
work. In this social learning space, members will share their experiences, challenges,
and learnings to lead and support the real-world application of improvement science
practices in education. Jo Ann Isken and Dr. Kristen Rohanna will facilitate
this social learning and provide support and guidance.
Pre-requisite: Participated in a previous improvement science series/summer institute
or has knowledge of improvement science practices. (This series will not
teach improvement science foundational concepts.)"
