To cultivate a collaborative environment where educators can exchange ideas that support the California Next Generation Science Standards (CA NGSS). Throughout the year, we will delve into the Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) and Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs), drawing from resources such as STEM Teaching Tools and OpenSciEd. Sharpen your expertise in scientific modeling and explanation while exploring the role of discourse in the science classroom. Uncover effective strategies to assist students in organizing and tracking their evolving ideas through science notebooks, phenomenon trackers, and more. Additionally, we will highlight the importance of literacy in science, aligning Common Core standards with NGSS principles and introducing valuable resources like "Reading to Learn in Science." |
