Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with attention to the language of change. It involves recognizing the problem, searching for ways to change, and practicing change itself. This training is an overview for motivational interviewing skills and mindfulness practice with students. This training will serve as an introduction to Motivational Interviewing and refresher of principles and best practices. This training will build capacity for counselors, school social workers, teachers and other school site personnel who work with students in need of positive behavior changes. |
