NEW SCHOOL LEADERS COMMUNITY OF
PRACTICE
Join Abdul-Rehman Mohammed Issa for coaching, community building, thought
partnering, and support within a cohort of new, engaging leaders navigating the 2022-
23 school year. We’ll meet over twelve, one-hour sessions, and our time together will
be spent engaging with the practice of leadership, curriculum and coaching, systems
thinking, relationship building, negotiating challenges and conflict, navigating
politicized learning environments, sharing successes, and deepening our knowledge
around subjects relevant to leading and transforming education towards the
actualization of all learners.
Issa was a special education teacher before becoming an administrator. He’s led
schools pre, during, and post-pandemic and is trained deeply in restorative and
trauma-informed practices. He is currently working on his PhD at UC-San Diego,
where he is researching manifestations of trauma in school systems and the
implementation of equitable, culturally-sustaining/responsive wellbeing interventions
for children, school staff, and parents.
