Supporting Newcomer Students

Newcomers need to draw on all their resources-intellectual, linguistic, cultural-as they make sense of new content and a new language.  Culturally responsive teaching begins by knowing your students’ histories, cultures, and experiences.  This workshop will provide essential yet practical information on identifying the assets and needs of your English language learners while providing high leverage strategies to engage Newcomers in content learning.
