Designed to empower educators with a comprehensive understanding of the California Next Generation Science Standards (CA NGSS) through a focused exploration of the phenomena-based approach. Participants will delve into the key principles and pedagogical strategies underpinning the CA NGSS, with a specific emphasis on utilizing phenomena – observable and testable events or aspects of the natural world – as the foundation for science instruction. Through interactive sessions, collaborative discussions, and hands-on activities, educators will gain the knowledge and skills needed to effectively implement the phenomena-based approach and enhance their science teaching practices. |
