Training for Facilitating Grief Groups with K-12 Youth

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that 1 in 10 children will experience the death of a parent by the age of 18. Learn the impact of loss on children. We will cover how the loss affects various ages differently and what the typical stages of grief are. Schools and youth-serving organizations need to be able to offer support and feel prepared when dealing with grief issues. Participants will learn to facilitate small group sessions with youth who have experienced losing a loved one. My Journey Workbooks include 8 chapters, designed to be led in an 8-10 week format. The topics include: Feelings, Beliefs, My Story, Changes, Balance, Connections and Memories. This unique set was developed after years of facilitating grief groups by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. It is designed to walk youth through the stages of grief and celebrate their progress in facing their challenges. APPROVED Flyer - Facilitating Grief Groups with K-12 Youth 9-15-2023
